Kevin J. Tackitt

Kevin J. Tackitt age 65, a beloved husband, father, papa, and uncle was Born April 15, 1959, and departed this life to the eternal heaven above on March 26, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. A devoted man of faith, he regularly attended Elijah and Moody Church of Christ. He was very active in his church and rarely missed. One of his favorite gospel songs is Old Rugged Cross. He lived life to the fullest, always ready to lend a helping hand. He was the first to jump at a call for help. His passions included fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. Most importantly, he dedicated himself to spreading the word of Christ, truly a God-fearing man. He wanted nothing more than for everyone he knew to embrace it, and one day reunite in Heaven with the Lord. He loved gardening and was known as the master gardener; he loved a friendly competition with his son to get the first red tomato of the season. He enjoyed visiting with anyone he met; he truly never met a stranger. He was always involved with his children and grandchildren, going to every ball game that he could. He loved to wrestle with his great grandson and nephews. He also was known as the grumpy old toolman. A true master of all trades, everyone especially his grandkids always knew “if anyone can fix it, papa can.” Always tinkering with different projects, he crafted knives for his friends and family and worked on vehicles with his sons and grandsons. He also loved and cherished mushroom hunting and trail riding at Cloud 9 with his family. He created memories that will always be cherished and never forgotten. If you stop and take the time to look around there will always be a way that he left an impact. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon “Madonna” Tackitt, who was his high school sweetheart. After finding their way back to each other they had 27 years of marriage in which he loved spending every minute that he could with her. Survived by his children Chase and Jennipher Lawing of Sturkie Arkansas, Dwight and Lindsay Tackitt of Oologah Oklahoma, Chasity and Chant Upton of Mammoth Springs Arkansas, and Kassie and Linden Blevins of Claremore Oklahoma. His grandchildren Adrian and Logan Conyers, Tai Blevins, Viviene Tackitt, Hunter Lawing, Kendra Wake and Bryce Stevens, Rafe Tackitt, Caden Upton, Megan and Levi Poulette, Sadie Upton, Ethan Upton and Callie Smith, Evan Blevins, Kaysen Beatty, and River Tackitt. His great-grandchildren Bennett Conyers, and Carter Poulette, his brother Leland Tackitt, and a sister Lisa and David Bownds, Brother-in-law James McCormack and Wendi Braden, His step-mother Edith Tackitt of Harrison Arkansas, A special uncle Bill Tackitt of Caulfield Missouri, and Roy Marshall, his nieces and nephews, Doug and Gaby Rhoads, Frankie Harris, Alex and Harley Smith and their children Layne and Kash, Brynn and Zack Siklas with their children Easton and Wyatt, Jacelyn and Noah Shrable and children Laynee and Lylah, Shelby and Jag Terrill, Brittney McCormack, Jared and Keely McCormack and children Harlie and Jaysten, Kala and Bryan Trantham with their children Cooper and Emma, along with multiple other loved cousins too many to mention. His very special friends Randy and Karen Hunt, Larry and Tracy Girdley, Travis and Twila Morris, Calvin, Patty and Dakota Collins, and Jr and Betty Foster. He was preceded in death by his parents Olen and Geneva Tackitt, brother Keith Tackitt, brothers Rick & Robert Philpott, granddaughter Bailee Blevins, Nephew LJ Tackitt and Kooper Smith and his mother-in-law Sharon Rhoads. There will be a celebration of life at the community building in Caulfield, Missouri on April 27, 2025, at 2:00 for those who knew and loved Kevin. This will be a casual event, and all are invited to come to celebrate the life he lived in a place that he himself enjoyed.
