Keith Holloway

Keith Holloway, 101, of West Plains, MO, died peacefully at his home on May 15, 2025, surrounded by so much love from his family and friends. Keith was born on March 6, 1924, in Bristow, Oklahoma to Lionel and Mattie Elizabeth (Dowdy) Holloway. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Sarah Holloway, son, Vance Holloway and wife Cindy, daughter, Kay Beth Litty and husband Andy, stepchildren, Jeffrey Quarles, Wendy Quarles, Lisa Schiffleger, Dean Quarles and wife Eva, Kelly Schick and husband Brian. Grandchildren and step grandchildren, Kristi Akers and husband Kenny, Tiffanie Crowder and husband Will, Nicholas Holloway, Michelle Wingo and husband Mike, Rachel Kitzmiller and husband Ben, Abi Washburn and husband Damien, Aaron Quarles, Ian Schiffleger, Andrew Schiffleger, Keegan Schick and Obie Schick. Great grandchildren and step great grandchildren, Jacklyn, Dakota, Rylee, Hailey, Victoria, Arlo, Linsie, Sierra, Alyssa, Eli, Jimmy, Isabel, Dorothy and Violet. Great great grandchildren, Jaxon and Abigail. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lionel and Mattie Elizabeth (Dowdy) Holloway, his first wife of 40 years, Lila Lee Holloway, baby daughter, Marsha Irene Holloway, brother, Ray Holloway, half-brother, Forrest Holloway, second wife of 9 years, Minnie Johnson Downey and granddaughter-in-law, Jamie Holloway. To say that Keith’s life was full of adventures is an understatement. He did everything from serving in the Navy during WW2, to owning a package store, driving a beer truck, a cola truck, an ice cream truck, working as a surveyor for the Army Corps of Engineers during the time Lake Norfolk was being formed, and other odd jobs. In his 50’s he went back to school to learn a new trade. Most of us knew him as the small engine repair guy. If you had a lawnmower or weed eater that needed to be fixed, Keith was your guy. He loved learning new things, at any age. In 1988, when he was 64, he started studying the Bible with Gary and Janice. They ended up becoming the closest of friends, sharing many great times together. He was baptized in 1993 as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Keith’s faith in the Bible’s promises for the future is what brought him peace and hope. And one of his greatest joys was sharing his hope with others. Keith had over a century’s worth of beautiful moments with family and friends, and he will be dearly missed. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, May 24th at 2:00 pm, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, West Plains, Missouri.
