Dolores A. Warren

Dolores Ann Warren, 94, of West Plains, Missouri, reached the end of her earthly journey on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at home, with her daughter Renee, granddaughter Casey, and great-granddaughter Annalea by her side. Dolores was born on July 25, 1931, in St. Louis, Missouri. As a teenager, her father accepted a job in Chicago, Illinois, and the family relocated there. Not long after, she met her one and only, Wayne Warren of Owasso, Oklahoma. They fell in love, married, and went on to spend an incredible 68 years together. The two built a beautiful family, raising four children, two boys and two girls. When the kids were grown, and her and Wayne were ready for retirement, they moved to West Plains. The boys remained in Chicago, while the girls lived nearby, close to the house on CC, a place that became a true home and gathering spot for family. For so many years, the family would all come together and head down to the lake - “we're going bobbin’!” Dolores was not one to sit around for long. There was always something to be done, and she brought that same energy into her work. Over the years, she held several jobs, including driving a school bus and working as a real estate agent. In retirement, Dolores discovered one of her great joys of painting. She created beautiful landscape scenes, many inspired by the natural beauty of the Ozarks that she had grown to love. Her artwork reflected her eye for beauty and her appreciation for the world around her. Dolores was truly a special person. She formed lasting friendships and had a way of making an impression; you didn’t meet her and forget her. She loved to talk and interact with people, and as we all know, she was never a shy woman. Graceful yet bold, she always spoke her mind, always without hesitation. Dolores will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. She is preceded by her parents Francis and Marie Quante, husband Wayne Warren, brother Gregory Quante, daughter Linda Pauhl, son Gregory Warren, and son-in-law Timothy Collins. She is survived by her brother Francis (Rusty) Quante, son Wayne (Skip) Warren (Melissa), daughter Renee Collins, grandchildren Eric Pauhl (Jennifer), Joseph Warren (Laura), Carly Warren, Daniel Warren (Liz), Zachary Warren, Kelli Warren, Matthew Collins (Wendy), Dakota Collins (Krimson), Casey Collins, several nieces, nephews, and great grandchildren.
