Brent J. Soard

Brent Soard, 35, passed away peacefully at his home in Peace Valley with his mother, Brenda, at his side on Jan. 1, 2025. Brent was a fine young man who had been put through many trials in his life. As a young man while attending Junction Hill School he fell in love with running cross country in the fourth grade. He excelled at it and continued to become a superior athlete, never stopping running throughout his school years. Brent was a track star and could run like the wind. He was proud to be a Zizzer and was on cross country team up until his diving accident in 2006. He graduated from West Plains High School in 2007.. Brent loved to hunt & fish and search for arrowheads. Another pastime he thoroughly enjoyed was going to auctions and seeing what kind of treasures he could find. He also loved collecting coins. Brent loved spending time with his nieces and nephews. His family was very important to him and a source of pride. His accident didn’t limit him in his quest to have fun and love life. He loved his MOPAR attire and Hemi engines. He even had a sign on the back of his powerchair that stated, “Yeah, its got a Hemi." There’s even a great video of Brent floating around out there showing him doing donuts in the middle of the county road with his powerchair. Another time his brothers and friends strapped his powerchair down to an old car hood when it was snowing and they towed him around sliding sideways while he was laughing, smiling and loving life. He had a contagious smile and was deeply loved by his Mom, Brothers, Grandma, and numerous relatives and friends. Brent was an inspiration to many people. He is survived by his mother, Brenda Soard of the family home, his Grandmother Norma Soard, two brothers: Justin Soard & his kids, Wyatt, Ariana, of Rolla. Keith Small & his kids, Aubrey, Easton, Bryan, of West Plains, an uncle, James Soard Jr. and his wife Audrey, and numerous other relatives and friends. Brent was preceded in death by his Grandpa James Soard Sr. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. When a date is determined, his family & friends will announce it, and Always Faithful Memorial Services will post the information on their website.
